Join us on Saturday 14th November from 1pm until 4pm for a live painting demonstration by artist Tony Butcher.
Straight from the Quantum Manifold presents a new body of paintings and drawings by Boscombe-based artist and poet Tony Butcher. Working through a process that combines spontaneous image-making with conscious refinement, Tony explores themes of spirituality, identity, social division, human relationships, and collective consciousness through richly symbolic and often ambiguous imagery. Featuring 20–24 works, including several new large-scale paintings created specifically for the exhibition, the show welcomes viewers to become active participants in meaning-making, discovering one's own narratives within images that deliberately resist singular interpretation.
Tony Butcher is a Boscombe-based poet and fine art painter whose work explores the relationship between consciousness, symbolism, and human experience. His practice draws inspiration from a broad range of influences including African art, Jungian psychology, mythology, literature, and artists such as Picasso, Chagall, and William Blake. Many of his images contain layered symbolism, visual ambiguity, and multiple possible readings, allowing viewers to discover different narratives based on their own experiences and perspectives. Tony held his debut exhibition in Boscombe in November 2025 and continues to develop a distinct visual language that combines spontaneity, symbolism, and strong compositional storytelling.
